I have worked on a wide variety of museum projects, curating exhibitions on Victorian art and music at the Royal College of Music, Liverpool Central Library and Queen Mary University of London.
Most recently, I curated the first temporary exhibition at the new Royal College of music Museum. Musical Portraits in Bohemian London featured work by artists including Edward Burne-Jones, George Frederic Watts and John Singer Sargent.
For an example of my curatorial work, check out this widely-acclaimed digital exhibition on composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and his involvement in the civil rights movement.
As a freelancer, I have experience across the following areas:
- Collections research
- Interpretation: producing interpretation plans, writing labels/panels for permanent and temporary exhibitions, writing audio guide content, scripting and developing short films
- Public engagement: giving talks, writing blog posts, managing social media accounts
- Producing academic research: giving conference papers, writing academic articles, attracting funding for research projects
- Writing reports and funding bids
If you have a project you think I could help with, please do send me an email. I’d love to hear from you!
